Holy Day: Martyrdom of the Báb

This Bahá'í holy day commemorates the sacrifice made by the Báb in 1850 in carrying out His mission as a Messenger of God to prepare the way for the coming of Bahá’u’lláh, the Promised One of all religions. The Báb means “the Gate” and He served as a gate to a new era for humanity.
